Frequently Asked Questions

Which Model Canoe Paddling Adapter do I have?

From 1994 – 1997 we sold a canoe adapter that was very long and had a separate seat assembly that was placed behind the Concept2 Indoor Rower. We now refer to this as the Model A Canoe Paddling Adapter. See the below line drawing:

Starting in 1997 we produced our current version of the Canoe Padding Adapter which uses the Indoor Rower seat. We now refer to this as our Model B Canoe Paddling Adapter. See the below drawing:

Which models of the Concept2 Indoor Rower does the Paddling Adapter fit onto?

The Paddling Adapter is designed to fit on the Concept2 Models C, D, and E Indoor Rowers.  For the Model E Indoor Rower, an additional platform is necessary under the Rower footrest.   Typically, while using the Paddling Adapter, your heels rest on the floor and the balls of your feet rest on the bottom of the Rower footrest.  Because the footrest is higher on the Model E Rower, you will want some sort of platform to rest your heels on when you paddle.

How do I know which model of the Concept2 Indoor Rower I have?

Follow this link to a page on the Concept2 website that will show you what each model looks like.

How long does it take to switch between rowing and paddling?

The initial installation takes about 20 minutes.  After that, switching between rowing and paddling takes only about two minutes.  As you do it more, you’ll get faster at it!

Thanks for your past regattas! Looking forward to the next one. In the meantime we have our 2023 Canoe Paddling Adapter World Rankings entry page up on our website if paddlers want to compete from home…Thank you everyone for your support of our Beasts from the East indoor regatta! We're so happy that people have enjoyed the event in the past and are reaching out about our plans for this year. Unfortunately, we will not be holding the 2023 regatta. Even though most people have some immunity against Covid now, we still do not feel comfortable with a crowded indoor environment potentially causing a super spreader event. But he on the look out for a bigger and beastier BftE in 2024!

If you are interested in joining other fun events, we will again be participating in the Shamrock Splash on March 6 this year to raise money for beach activation! Come for a refreshing dip in the water or to cheer on the brave souls! Check this link for more info savetheharbor.securesweet.com/about.asp

And if you're visiting Boston at any point and looking for some workout buddies, feel free to reach out and join us at one of our practices!
