Back on the water, you get to reap the benefits of your indoor training on our Paddling Adapter.
With the addition of the SUP kit, the Paddling Adapter becomes a sport-specific trainer for standup paddleboard paddlers as well as a cross training tool that improves core strength. When used with the balance platform placed behind the rower, the Paddling Adapter simulates the side-to-side motion of a paddleboard. Combined with a longer paddle shaft, the balance platform allows for SUP training strikingly close to an on-water feel.
Jay Wild, of Paddle Elite Fitness and Tahoe Waterman tells us:
Jay sets up his SUP Paddling Adapter at Donner Lake for Workout with a ViewLiving in Lake Tahoe and being a paddle athlete can be tough at times. It snows and is cold 7-8 months a year. Having the Paddlesport Training Systems paddle adapter has been an integral part of my race training preparation not only because it allows me to paddle all year but also because it creates a controlled environment to test my fitness level and really get creative with my programming. Having the capabilities to dial in my stroke technique and match that to the wattage meter or 500m split times is a great way for me to see the gains and keeps me motivated.
Greg Long, longtime competitive outrigger and SUP paddler from the Gold Coast of Australia has this to say about the SUP Paddling Adapter:

To be honest, I had my doubts about how effective it would be in activating your core whilst paddling when you could apply the full power in your stroke and I’ve been suitably impressed by the whole thing. It’s been really good. The tippy board [balance platform] …I think they’ve pretty much nailed it in terms of tippiness for a Stand Up. It’s not over the top but it still makes you activate your core and you can still blade in that power. I think it’s awesome.
